Behaviour or Body Language

The term ‘aversive’ is more about a negative emotion than a behaviour. Susan Friedman.

This brings a whole new level of detail to the discussions about whether +P is aversive or not. Are we talking basic maths of +/- or are we talking emotions.

Starting out with the same understanding of the terminology being used is so vital. If we don’t start out with knowing what people mean by the term they are using, e.g. aversive, then we can discuss til the cows come home and never find a way forward.

In line with my previous posts; aversive is not about whether the learner moved away from something, its about the body language as they moved away from/to something.
